Dilla and Dilla Attitude, Dilla History, It's a way of life, it's a state of mind, it's an attitude. The dilla attitude is not persuaded or trapped by social norms and doesn’t worry about what other people think,Being dilla is always pushing your abilities and limits,The dilla person is turned off by closed minded people without vision and is free spirited with an independent nature,The dilla attitude is not learned - it just is and can’t be helped!The above was coined in 1990 for Dilla, but the term Dilla actually started in the late 70’s early 80's by surfers / skaters to describe the laidback - free spirited - whatever attitude. In 1990, Dilla Surf Wear was born and the clothing was sold at local surf shops. By 1991, the Dilla Shop opened its doors and welcomed many young beachgoers. The original shop was located on 16th Ave North in Jacksonville Beach, Florida near the Holiday Inn. The shop was unique and was the first to offer baby surf clothing and “Giant Surf Cookies”. Also it became a hangout for locals to talk about surf and party antics from the night before.Today, Dilla is dedicated to offering the same “Laidback - Free spirited - Whatever” attitude in all its products.
